Marjorie Zavidniak, age 94, of Oxford peacefully entered into rest surrounded by her loving family on Thursday February 11, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas Zavidniak. She was born in Derby on September 12, 1926 the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Sheehan) Skurat. Mrs. Zavidniak retired from the Department of Revenue Services in 1992. She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years spending time gardening, reading and living her best life at her home in Oxford with her husband and family. She is survived by her son James Zavidniak and her daughter Margaret Zavidniak (Joel Harder). She was predeceased by her son Michael Zavidniak. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 1 pm on Wednesday February 17 in St. Margaret Mary’s Church, 50 Donovan Ln. Shelton. Masks and social distancing are required to attend the Mass. Her burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Griffin Hospital and Seasons Hospice for their exceptional care. My sincere sympathies Marge’s family. I had the privilege to work with her at the Derby OTB from 1981-1983. I remember her sweet, gentle disposition well. She touched my life for a brief season, but the impact was everlasting. I’m so sorry for your loss.
