I loved coming back to my home town of shelton the city of my childhood. One of the first priorities would always be to stop and talk to Rudy and enjoy the fantastic view from the farm out over Long Island sound. A nicer man would be hard to find. Its going to be hard and sad not to be able to see him anymore. God bless Rudy.

My condolences to Rudy's family. Rudy always sold me hay some years ago for my two horses even when his supply was getting low for his own needs. Such an honest and honorable guy. And I really enjoyed the lively and often humorous conversations we had.

Our sincere sympathies to the Hudak family from the Labas family of Granville, New York. Cynthia Labas Baldino, Michael Labas, Jr. (deceased August 2018), Mary Labas Cosey, Bernadette (Bunny) Labas, John Labas, Stephan Labas and Paul Labas all children of Michael and Janice Labas. Anna Plaveky married John Labas and they were my father's parents. Anna was the sister to Veronica and Mary Plaveky. I was visiting Shelton CT with my sister, Bunny, less than 10 years ago and we found Rudy in his driveway underneath an old International red tractor. I announced....."Rudy, it is the Labas's from Granville here to visit you"....he threw down the wrench and crawled out from under the tractor and was so welcoming to us. He proudly showed us his homestead and introduced us to his daughter and family who lived out back in the middle of a meadow. We had a beautiful visit. Rudy supplied the corn for our family reunions in Granville. He usually was the first person to arrive even though he came the farthest distance. We were so glad Rudy had a chance to meet his cousins from Slovakia in 2018. He was a wonderful man with a huge heart and smile.
