Obituary for William R Sterbinsky Jr.

William R. Sterbinsky, Jr., age 81, of Shelton entered into rest on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Bishop WIcke Health and Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was the devoted husband of the late Dolores (Kozak) Sterbinsky. William was born in Clinton, MA on June 22, 1939 son of the late William Sterbinsky, Sr. and Christine (Harris) Sterbinsky.

He proudly served with the US Army. William was a sales manager at Sears Roebuck Corporation. He acquired the name “Mr. Personality”, which he took great pride in. He was dedicated and hard-working in his work and every task he took on. He had an innate quality craftsmanship and enjoyed working with his hands with a commitment to excellence in his spare time. William enjoyed vacationing with his wife. He took pride in his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He will be missed by many.

William was the beloved father of Lisa Yulo and her husband Vincent, step-father of Lisa Bender and her husband Edward, Sharon Dunn and Michael Dunn. He was also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and nieces. William was predeceased by a daughter Christine Ross, a grand daughter Autumn Ross and two brothers, Phillip and John Sterbinsky.

A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Visitors are required to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure everyone can come through. On Thursday, friends are invited to go directly to St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton for his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. His burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
