Obituary for William Lagoja

William Lagoja, age 83, of Shelton entered into rest on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 54 years to Virginia (Pender) Lagoja.

William was born in Karlobag, Yugoslavia on December 28, 1937 son of the late Anton and Maria (Regitnik) Lagoja. At age 5 William and his family moved to Rattendorf, Austria, then came to America in 1950 and he moved to Shelton in 1969. William attended the German School of Connecticut for 12 years. He graduated from Bassick High School in 1956. He went on to earn the rank of Corporal in the U.S Army while being stationed in Texas. He was employed as a machinist and instructor by AVCO for 31 years before his retirement. William was a lover of all animals, especially dogs. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family.

He was survived by his sister Marge (Lagoja) Pekar, nephews Ernest Lagoja and John Pekar, niece Rosemary Walsh, cousin David M Beaver who was a longtime source of news to William and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. William was predeceased by his brother Ernst Lagoja.
