Obituary

Wanda Sharp, age 70, of Shelton entered into rest on January 12, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born in Rome, NY on September 22, 1950 daughter of the late Kenneth and Winifred (Sprague) Sharp. Wanda was employed as a paraprofessional in the Trumbull Public School, where she touched many lives during her career before she retired. Wanda was known as someone who loved with all her heart, she was very selfless and devoted her life to making others happy. She was a huge fan of Waylon Jennings, loving anything and everything he wrote and sang. She enjoyed visiting lighthouses and going to see the giraffes. She also liked baking, doing crafts, and antiquing but most of all loved spending time with her family. She was an avid collector of trinkets, however, cherished the pennies she received from Brittany the most. She is survived by her Niece Samantha Dodge, Nephews Jamie Dodge, and Raymond Ricci and raised them as her own children. She is also survived by her two sisters, Anita Lord and Barbara Duncan, nieces Laurie, Kara, Jaime, Brenda, Linda, nephew Alex along with many other nieces and nephews, lifelong friend Pinky and her beloved pets Molly and Stella. She was predeceased by her sister Beverly Ricci and her two brothers Neil and Gregory Sharp.

A public walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. Visitors are required to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Adventure Park, 85 Martin Hill Rd. Harpursville, NY, 13787 toward the Giraffe Exhibit. Please leave an online condolence on this website.

Auntie Wanda was such a caring funny person. I remember her taking me to see the movie, Jaws for the first time. I was terrified and I never did swim in the ocean ever the same. She said don't tell your mother you were scared lol. She sure did show us all love. Rest in peace beautiful lady
