Obituary

Thomas E. Gesseck, age 75, of Beacon Falls, entered into rest on Monday, December 7, 2020, at his home with his family by his side. Thomas was born in Waterbury on June 12, 1945, son of the late Stanley C. and Helen A. (Klukis) Gesseck. Born and raised in Naugatuck, he moved to Shelton in 1969 and finally to Beacon Falls in the 90’s.

Thomas served his country with the US Airforce during the Vietnam War. He worked for over thirty years for Graybar Electric before retirement. A golfer in his earlier years, Thomas enjoyed playing lotto and his lottery tickets, cards, cribbage, bowling, and visits to the casino. He also enjoyed feeding stray cats in his neighborhood.

He is the beloved father of Amy (Gesseck) Ganim Bellows and her husband Bruce and proud grandfather of Tyler and Lindsay Ganim. He also leaves his sister, Christine Link and her husband James, sister-in-law Janette Gesseck, and several nieces and nephews and his longtime companion Judy Deren. Thomas was predeceased by his brother, Stanley Gesseck.

A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 9 to 10:30 AM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through. A graveside funeral service will follow at St. James Cemetery, 225 Cross Street, Naugatuck, at 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Animals for Life (animalsforlife.org) in Naugatuck. Online condolences can be offered to the family at www.riverviewfh.com.
