Obituary

Thelma V. Bauer, age 87, of Shelton, entered into rest on Thursday, March 4, 2021. She is the devoted wife of Gordon Bauer. Thelma was born in East Pubnico, Nova Scotia, Canada on November 17, 1933, daughter of the late George and Thalia (Larkin) Wyman. She came to Shelton in 1980 from Monroe, having previously lived in Norwalk.

Thelma was a secretary with Wyrepak Industries before retirement, and she became active with the Friends of Shelton Libraries and the Shelton Senior Center. An avid reader and also enjoyed crossword puzzles.

She is the beloved mother of Robert Betts and his wife Sandra, Stephen Betts, and Karen Betts. She also leaves five cherished grandchildren, Tessa-Rose Betts, Ronald Meeker, Stephen Betts, Shelby Valentin, and Danielle Parks, six great-grandchildren, Madison Rose, Jaxon, Mason, Dante, Cooper, and Connor, a brother, Charles Wyman, two sisters, Barbara Betts and Clara Cooke, and several nieces and nephews. Thelma was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Betts, and three brothers, Clive, George, and Paul Wyman.

Due to the covid pandemic, friends are invited to view a livestream of her funeral service at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 11AM at www.riverviewfh.com. Live attendance will be private.
Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton and can also be viewed via livestream. Memorial contributions are requested to the Friends of the Shelton Libraries and to the Plumb Memorial Library, 65 Wooster Street, Shelton, CT 06484

A beautiful soul with a great heart and sense of humor who was loved by all who knew her. You will be missed and the heavens have gained an amazing woman with strength and an incredible heart . Rest In Peace my dearest Aunt Thelma. Your suffering is now done. You will be so very missed by me and my entire family. Our memories and love run deep. Our deepest sympathies to Gordy and my cousins Karen, Stephen, Bob and their families. There are really no words for this. Such a loss. Our love and prayers to all of you. i HAD THE PRIVLEDGE OF WORKING WITH THELMA FOR THE PAST EIGHT YEARS AS VOLUNTEERS AT PLUMB MEMORIAL LIBRARY.
THELMA WAS ALWAYS THERE TO LEND A HAND, NO MATTER THE JOB. SHE WAS A WONDERFUL WOMAN, HER PATIENCE WAS UNBELIEVABLE. SHE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO CAME INTO CONTACT WITH HER. REST IN PEACE THELMA.
