Obituary for Stephen James Curry

Stephen James Curry, age 80, of Shelton entered into rest on Sunday May 9, 2021 in his home. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Shina) Curry. He was born in Hazleton, PA on September 26, 1940 the son of the late Stephen J. and Elizabeth (McNertney) Curry. Steve was an electrical engineer and worked as Chief of Instrumentation for various aviation companies before finishing his career as a consultant. He was widely regarded as one of the top Jet Engine Specialists in the world and held seven different patents. Steve was incredibly intelligent, a master craftsman, woodworker, landscaper and all around jack of all trades. He could fix any appliance, computer, car, and do every repair around his home. Playing the piano may have been the only thing Steve couldn’t do!

Besides his wife Jean, he is survived by his daughters Mary Bauer and her husband Ricky, Kathy deStefano and her husband John, and Stephanie Bartels and her husband Russell, his grandchildren Parker Bartels, Emily deStefano, Jake Bartels, and Olivia deStefano, and his sister Mary Ida and her husband Charles. He was predeceased by his brother Eugene Curry. Steve’s funeral service will be privately held with his immediate family and have been entrusted to the care of the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton, CT 06484.
