Obituary for Robert E. Fenstermaker

Robert E. Fenstermaker, age 78, of Shelton entered into rest on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 54 years to Patricia (Passomato) Fenstermaker.

Robert was born in Newark, NJ on August 5, 1942 son of the late William and Anne (Kauppinen) Fenstermaker and was a Shelton resident for 35 years. Robert graduated from Union High School in Union, NJ. He proudly served the US Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Ranger Division. Robert started his career in the insurance industry which took he and his family to North Carolina and Texas. Robert was a founding member of the Pecan Grove Volunteer Fire Department in Richmond, TX. Before his retirement, Robert was a manager at AutoZone for 16 years. He loved watching sports, especially going to his grandchildren's sporting events. Robert enjoyed traveling with his wife on cruises, going to the casino and family trips to Martha’s Vineyard. He loved country music and attending concerts. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family.

Robert was the beloved father of Bryan R. Fenstermaker and his wife Kerry Shields (Ardmore, PA), Tracy Mello and her husband Dave (North Haven, CT) and Jason P. Fenstermaker and his wife Melissa (Seymour, CT), loving grandfather of Davin, Macy, Grady, Ben, Linley and Andy. He was a brother-in-law to Andre Passomato and Michele Lacrosse and uncle of Debbie Kleinrock.

On Friday, friends and family are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton. Everyone is required to wear masks and social distance. His burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
