Obituary for Mary Orazietti
Mary Orazietti, age 88, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on Saturday December 19, 2020 in Bishop Wicke Health Center. She was the wife of the late Enio “Jake” Orazietti. Mary was born in Ireland on May 24, 1932 daughter of the late Patrick and Bridget McGlynn Hughes. Mary made the journey on an ocean liner to come to American at the young age of 17. She came to Shelton where she was a resident for all of her adult life. She was a devout catholic that loved serving the Lord and was blessed for doing so. She was a long time communicant of St. Joseph Church, Shelton where she was an Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Rosary Society, a volunteer at the annual carnival and Irish night.
She is survived by her five children Marian Phillips and her husband Bradely, James Orazietti and his wife Sharon, David Orazietti, Kevin Orazietti, Daniel Orazietti and his wife Linda, five grandchildren Bradely, Jaqueline, Kelly and her fiancé Ryan Walkishaw, Gina and Jessica, two brothers John Hughes and Tom Hughes, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother Jim Hughes.
A public walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday December 22, 2020 from 9:30 am to 11 am at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. Visitors are required to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the visitation at 11:30 am on Tuesday at St. Joseph Church, 50 Fairmont Place, Shelton. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
