Obituary

Lisa Benjamin, age 56, of Milford, entered into rest on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital following a courageous lifelong battle with diabetes. She was the loving wife of Wayne Benjamin, to whom she was married for 27 years. Their marriage was rooted in love and friendship. They were an amazing couple who loved to be together whether it be traveling together to Disney World or having picnic dinners on the beach. Lisa grew up in Beacon Falls.

She graduated from nursing school and worked as a pediatric nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Working and spending time with children was one of life’s greatest joys for Lisa. A few of her favorite activities were reading, catching up with her nephews, girl chats with her mother and sister, and especially her relationship with Jesus. We feel like the world got a little darker without her light.

Besides her husband, Lisa, leaves her parents Robert and Joanne (Kwiatkowski) Winters of Milford, sister Amy Seibert (Joseph), nephews Timothy and Andrew Seibert, her uncles Rev. Robert Kwiatkowski, Aloysius Widziewicz (Kevin Kelton), Fred Smith and aunts Mary Ann Smith and Mary Kwiatkowski, and predeceased uncles William Kwiatkowski and Raymond Widziewicz.

On Friday, friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave., Milford. Friends are required to wear masks and social distance. Her burial will be private.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Heart 4 Children, P.O. Box 47, Tomball, TX 77377. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton has been entrusted with her arrangements. Friends may leave condolences at www.riverviewfh.com.

I am so sadden to hear of this loss. As kids, Lisa, Amy and I would running around in the woods, getting poison IVY, running from the bats near the big hill after going to get ice cream or snacks and I remember waiting by the window in her room for her to get home so we could hang out and watch grease. Aunt Joanne, Uncle Bob, Uncle Bobby, Wayne ( I only meet you once but knew you were a awesome man) and Amy, I am so sorry for your loss and I am praying for all of you. She is in heaven now with Grandpa Bill, Bill Kwiatkowski, and John Walker reminiscing the awesome lives they lived.

I am so sadden to hear of this loss. Lisa was an incredible cousin and I remember all of the fun times we had as kids, walking down huge hill by her house as well as running from flying bats. I remember waiting for her to come home from school so we could hang out and watch Grease. Lisa and Amy were my most adored cousins and even remember when she came to visit me in Florida when my kids were little. No matter how much time went by I felt as though no time was lost and we were still kids. Uncle Bobby, Uncle Bob, Aunt Joanne and Amy, I am praying for all of you and send you my condolences but I know she is a peace and is now heaven with with Grandpa Bill, Bill Kwiatkowski and John Walker (Kwiatkowski) reminiscing good times.
