Obituary for Laura Ann D'Andrea (Scinto)

Laura Ann D’Andrea, age 88, of Shelton, entered into rest on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late Alphonse Robert D’Andrea. Laura was born in Bridgeport on December 4, 1932, daughter of the late Peter and Philomena “Mame” (Scarduzio) Scinto, and lived in Shelton since 1962.
She worked as an Operator and a Line Assignment clerk for SNET for many years prior to her retirement. Laura loved to travel, read, dance, and work on jigsaw puzzles.
She is the beloved mother of Howard Eldridge and his wife Dale and Stuart Eldridge and his wife Lauren, cherished grandmother of Jessica and Carolyn, and great-grandmother of Lauren, Michaela. She is also survived by her brother-in-law John D’Ausilio, several nieces and nephews, and her four dogs, Mabel, Betty Bopp, and Leo. She was predeceased by her brother, Peter Scinto, Jr., and two sisters, Lucy (Sal) Rizzo and Elvina D’Ausilio.

A public walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. Visitors are required to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through. Due to the covid pandemic restrictions her funeral service will be held for the family at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at noon in St. Michael Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave. Stratford for those who wish to attend. Mask and social distancing rules are required.
