Obituary for Julie Jerzyk (Mihon)

Julie (Mihon) Jerzyk, 102, of Shelton, passed away on April 11, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband Henry (Hank) Jerzyk and her sisters Louise Lestage and Alexandria Szerejko.

Julie was born May 22, 1918 and lived in Hartford CT until she married and moved to Shelton. She was a devout Catholic and active parishioner at St Lawrence Church in Shelton. Julie and Hank traveled extensively through Europe, Turkey, US and cruised. A notable trip was the Oberammergau Passion Play in Germany. The US travel covered the country from New England to California and Hawaii. And yearly jaunts to their favorite-Las Vegas. She was an experienced seamstress, gardener and painter. She loved to bake and won the Pillsbury Bake Off in California. Her prize was awarded to her by (actor) Ronald Regan. She was an active member of Derby and Shelton Senior Centers enjoying trips to NYC, plays, museums and all time favorite-Bingo.

Julie is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families Janet Jerzyk, Richard Jerzyk, Gerrie Maixner, Maryann Clapes, Linda Cheever, Robert Hansen, Sharon Adam, Sandra Phaneuf, Teresa Szerejko, Alice Nista, Alexandria Nista, Anne Bunting, Spencer Bunting. Julie lived a full life in faith and love of family and friends. In memory of Julie, indulge in her favorite-Cocolate.

On Saturday, friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Her burial will follow at Lawn Cemetery.
