Obituary

Judith Nichols, age 63, of Shelton entered into rest on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born in Derby on October 31, 1957, daughter of the late Joseph P. and Viola Angela (Orazietti) Micci. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Micci and sister Joyce Alea.

Judith attended Western Connecticut State University, along with graduating from St.Vincent's School of Nursing to obtain her BSN. Judith was a Registered Nurse at St.Raphael's Hospital for over 30 years, where she formed many friendships and life-long bonds. She loved her profession and was a dedicated employee and coworker. Judith was also an active member in her church community and she loved the Lord. She reflected on the happy times of her life often, all of which included family and close friends.

Judith was the beloved mother to Brian Nichols, Lisa Nichols and Calvin Bell, and Kevin and Kirstin Nichols. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Tatiana and Gianna Bell, Anthony and Benjamin Nichols, and Gianni, Joseph and Jayson Nichols. She was survived by her brother and sister in law Agostove and Catherine Micci, sister in law Linda Grabowsky-Micci, Terry Nichols, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 1, 2021 from 4 to 6 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Visitors are required to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through. On Saturday, friends are invited to go directly to St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. A Livestream of the Mass can be viewed at this link. Her entombment will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. Livestream of the Committal will also be available.

My memories of Judy are all about family, hers and mine and how both became connected. She was the epitome of love and service to her family, her church and her work. A more noble and gracious heart one would be hard pressed to find. I am sure she was greeted immediately upon her release from this life, so often filled with struggle and pain, with the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Our love and sympathy to her family and those who loved Judy. May she Rest In Peace.
