Obituary for Josephine Rose Ribas (Alemany)
Josephine Rose Ribas, age 97, of Shelton entered into rest on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Griffin Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph (Pappy) Ribas. Josephine was born in Ansonia on August 1, 1923 daughter of the late Salvador and Maria (Segui) Alemany and was a lifelong valley resident. She was a seamstress at the Valley Dress Company. Josephine enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bowling and playing cards. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.
She was the loving sister of Lupe Maybeck and her husband Willard Nicholas, a niece Sheryl (Maybeck) Dutkanicz who was her caretaker and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Josephine was predeceased by a brother Alvaro A. Alemany and a sister Mary McKenzie.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic her funeral service will be held in the future at a time to be announced. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton has been entrusted with her arrangements. Friends may leave condolences at www.riverviewfh.com.
