Obituary

Joseph Salvatore Pilato, 79, of Shelton, beloved husband of Pauline (Paula) Goglin Pilato, departed this life on Thursday, February 4, 2021.
Joe was born on February 22, 1941, in Bridgeport, son of the late Joseph and Jean Pilato. Joe grew up in Bridgeport and went to Harding High School. Joe worked for over 25 years at Carpenter Technology.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Paula and his beloved children, Joseph Pilato, Jr and his wife, Paige of Derby and Marianne Pilato and her partner Bob Zoldy of Meriden; He also leaves behind his sister, Lee Ann Istvan of Bridgeport, one grandson, Jackson Ferris and three grandpups, Bailey, Watson, and Tequila, along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert.
In his earlier years, he was past captain of Shelton Pine Rock Volunteer Fire Department and was a CT State Forest Fire Warden. He enjoyed playing softball and bowling. He also enjoyed trips to the casino and trips with his family. If there was a card game going on, Joe would be there. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday February 9, 2021 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through. Mr P. I would say it was always a pleasure when you showed up for card games at your son's house, but let's be honest I always seemed to lose more money!! (Ha Ha) Over the years of getting to know you it was my pleasure. The love you had for your family was always evident. My you always be dealt a royal flush in the card games in the clouds.
