Obituary for John "Dr. John" Milano Sr.

John “ Dr. John” Milano, Sr. age 70, of Shelton entered into rest on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Griffin Hospital with his loving family by his side.

He was the devoted husband of the late Antionette (Gay) Milano. Dr. John was born in Bridgeport on December 18, 1950 son of the late Angelo and Jean (Levine) Milano.

He was a mechanical engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft for many years until his retirement. Dr. John enjoyed music, dancing, target shooting and the great outdoors. He also enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun Casino with his brother and always came back a winner. Dr. John was known for his cooking and loved baking cakes for his grandchildren. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family.

He was the beloved father of John Milano, Jr. and his wife Tracie and Daniel Milano, brother of Angelo Milano and his wife Florence, Jean Rodriguez and her husband Juan, Jerry Milano and his wife Lisa, loving grandfather of Cassandra, Hope, Joy, Samantha, Emily and Anthony, great grandfather of Jaxon and godfather of Ashley Adams. Dr. John was also survived by his daughter-in-law Jennie Milano, daughter-in-law Jessica Amorando, brother-in-law Anthony Cirella, his K9 companion Tiffany Rose Milano, several nieces and nephews, and Eric Gunn and Chris Ferreira who he considered family. He was predeceased by his brother Joe Milano (Debra) and sister Victoria Milano. To the thousands of kids and young adults that he opened his heart and home to, he loved you all very much. He always sought to fill all of your minds and bellies with knowledge and love.

A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 6th from 1 to 3 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through.
