Obituary for Joan H. Klapik

Joan H. Klapik, age 89, of Shelton entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 25, 2020 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was the devoted wife of the late John G. Klapik. Joan was born in Scranton, PA on May 17, 1931 daughter of the late George E. and Mary (Donaldson) Hall.

She worked in Data Processing for the City of Bridgeport until her retirement. Joan was a Life Deacon and a longtime member of the United Congregational Church in Bridgeport. She volunteered at Bridgeport Hospital and St.Vincent’s Medical Center. She was an avid fan of the UCONN Huskies women’s basketball team and loved vacationing in Aruba. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.

Joan was the beloved mother of Kim Hudler and spouse Jill Bruno, Lynn Hudler, Jill Tarantino and Karen Rogers, loving grandmother of, Casey Hudler and spouse Erin, Haley Hudler, Xavier Blyden, Samantha Tyler and spouse James, Miah Hudler and Kenneth Wells, great grandmother of Camryn-Luis Tyler, sister-in-law of Thomas McAuliffe, aunt of George Klapik, Irene Scheibner and partner Joan Twiggs, Sean McAuliffe and spouse Judy, Heather McAuliffe and several great nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her sister Jane McAuliffe.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic her burial will be private.
