Obituary for James Jenkins

James Jenkins, age 90, of Monroe entered into rest on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Danbury Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 41 years to the late Dorothy (Bodie) Jenkins. James was born in Yonkers, NY on May 8, 1930, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Davidson) Jenkins, and lived in Monroe for 64 years.
He retired as a Director of Quality Inspection at Sikorsky Aircraft after 41 years of service. James carried a lifelong passion for aviation and built and flew RC airplanes for over 50 years. He was a member of the Trumbull Indian Ledge RC Club and the White Hills Eagles RC Club. He loved to play the organ and was a member of the School of Falcetti Music. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and vacationing in New Hampshire. James always had a smile on his face and kindness in his heart for all he met. He was a lover of animals large and small. Always with a golden retriever by his side while he fed his many birds at his extensive bird feeder collection. He will be sadly missed by by his family and friends whom he loved dearly.
James is the beloved father of James L. Jenkins and Carol Stine and her husband Blake. He also leaves his beloved companion of 23 years, Earla Montani, four cherished grandchildren, Jake and Drew Jenkins, Kimberly Swanson and her husband Thomas, and Alyssa Stine. Great-grandchildren Alyssa Mae, Thomas Blake, Bianca Blake and Emma, several nieces and nephews, and his dog, Molly Mae who never left his side. He was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Family and friends are invited directly to St. John’s Cemetery, 500 Moose Hill Road, Monroe, for a graveside service on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 11 AM.
