Obituary for Eileen M. Barna
Eileen M. “Babe” Barna, age 87 of Shelton passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. She was the devoted wife of Peter Barna for 57 years who had predeceased her just five weeks before her passing. Babe was born on June 27, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Kennedy Guillemette. She grew up in Trumbull and enjoyed playing softball, tennis and golf throughout her life. She especially loved the Boston Red Sox, country music, vacationing with friends in NH and making homemade pizza for her family.
Babe is the beloved mother of Susan Peet and husband Christopher of Milford, Richard Barna and wife April of West Hartford and Gail Melanson and husband David of Shelton. She is the proud grandmother of Christopher (Bevin), David and Nicole Peet, Shannon and Jason Barna and Jenna, Megan and Taylor Melanson along with three great children Kayla, AJ and Nora Peet. Babe is survived by her brother Frank (Carol)
Guillemette of Shelton, sister Elaine (Bill) Steinmetz of Monroe and was predeceased by her brother Danny Guillemette of Madison, MS. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as her cherished and lifelong friend Marian Albright.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Compassus Care of Milford and Senior Helpers of Fairfield for providing their mom with such compassionate care throughout the past two years. A special thank you to her loving sister-in- law Anna Kerekes and long time caregiver Maria Moreno.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday June 5, 2021 at 11:30 am at Huntington Lawn Cemetery, 268 Huntington St. Shelton. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton are entrusted with the arrangements.
