Obituary for Donna Taylor (Cherhoniak)
Donna Taylor, 67, of Beacon Falls, CT, passed away on November 18th after a short stay at Garden Heights Nursing Home in Shelton, CT.
She was born in Derby, CT on April 12th, 1953, the daughter of the late Dorothy and Andrew Cherhoniak Sr. She was the wife of the late David Taylor and the mother of Matthew Taylor. She is survived by her four siblings: Andy Cherhoniak of Lake Charles, LA., Gary Cherhoniak of Prospect, Rick Cherhoniak of New Haven and Diane Cherhoniak of Beacon Falls, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donna Graduated from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania in 1973 and lived in Arkansas and Michigan for several years before returning to her home state of Connecticut for the remainder of her life. She was active in the community and volunteered as member of the Park and Rec Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission. She helped mentor children through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program and was a member, and former Chairwoman, of the Lioness Club of Beacon Falls. In her personal life, her love of country music was more than made up for by her love of dogs. Additionally, she was an avid reader and never missed a beach day.
Donna opted for cremation and services will be delayed until a more suitable time, when her life can be celebrated by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
