Obituary for Anthony C. Ballaro Sr.

Anthony C. Ballaro, Sr., age 62, of Shelton entered into rest on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Bridgeport on January 4, 1959, the son of the late Joseph and Patricia (Klepacky) Ballaro and was a Shelton resident for most of his life. Anthony started his career as a plumber for the Local 777 and later became a partner in Ballaro Brothers, LLC. He took a position as a Building Inspector for the City of Shelton before becoming the Chief Building Official for the Town of Easton which he currently held. Anthony was also an avid New York Yankees fan. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who called him “Pop Pop”.

He was the beloved father of Tina Ramos and her husband (Brian) , Lisa Kelsey and her husband Bryan and the late Anthony C. Ballaro, Jr., brother of Joseph Ballaro and his wife Kathy, Charles Ballaro and his wife Susan and Dina Marks and her husband Donald. Anthony was the loving grandfather of Brian, Silvana and Letty Ramos and Gianna, Trent and Athena Kelsey and was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A walk through visitation will take place on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Visitors are required to wear masks and social distance as they pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through. On Friday, friends are invited to go directly to St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton for his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. His burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull.
