Obituary for Andrew Joseph Napychank
Andrew Joseph Napychank, age 72, of Oxford entered into rest on Friday, April 30, 2021, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He is the beloved husband of Barbara (Mauri) Napychank. Andrew was born in Derby on August 4, 1948, son of the late Joseph P. and Vincenza (Gaudio) Napychank, and he lived in Oxford for 36 years.
He served his country with the US Airforce during the Vietnam War and went on to found Andy’s Tree Stump Grinding and Lawn Service. Andy loved being outside working with his hands and landscaping. Always happy to help people, he enjoyed being a prankster and everyone loved being around him.
He is the beloved father of Christina Napychank and step-father of Steven (June) Walker, Jason (Shannon) Walker, and Aaron (Diana) Walker. He also leaves his cherished grandson, Duane Jones, step-grandchildren, Christian, Kellie, Steven, Jr., Jordan, Sydney, Jesse, Charlotte, and Amelia Walker, three brothers, Joseph, Michael (Gerardina), and Stephen Napychank, and his nephew Michael Napychank.
A walk through visitation will take place on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 5 - 7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Visitors are required to wear masks and social distance as they pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through. Family and Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Church in Derby. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
