Ahab Alexzander Testman, age 80, of Stratford, entered into rest on Friday, January 8, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Manhattan, New York on September 2, 1940 son of the late Hyman Orville Testman and Rudell (Rovina) Smith-Testman. Ahab came to Connecticut from Brooklyn, New York with his wife Gwendolyn Testman in 1967 with their children. They settled in Bridgeport and continued to procreate with their family. He was employed at General Electric, Liberty Auto, Bryant Electric and retired from the City of Bridgeport Board of Education in the maintenance department. Ahab was educated in New York City and New Jersey and attended George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School in Brooklyn, New York for plumbing. Ahab was an avid writer about politics to many Presidents, Legislators, Congress and other municipalities that made a difference in the lives of mankind. He loved watching western movies, studying religion and speaking about God and love. Ahab also loved fishing on the boat.
He leaves his loving children, Kandiaha (Marbel) of NY, Hila (Warren) of CT, Tatianna of CT, Rakema of TX, Aisha Abdullah of CT, LaWanda Reed of CT, sons, Abdul Kareem of CT, Wakil Rashid, Art Young, Percy Reed, Willie Reed, Jaquan and the late Abdus Sabur, siblings, Francina of CT, Joseph of CT, Don Castro of FL, Lydia of FL, Doris of NY, Abdel of CT, Saleema of GA, Sonia of NY, Regina of NY, Angela of SC, Andre of Philippines, Frantacir of Cuba, Julio of Dominican Republic and Orville of NY and Alvarez of NJ. Ahab also leaves a very special nephew Eric Jackson and his spouse Shari Jackson who he loved very dearly and his niece Johanna jackson. Ahab loved and adored his grandchildren, Kasleem, CahMecca and Naji who he helped raise with teaching and scolding when needed, Qui’Ente, Rahay, Jakea, Taqeem, MiAsya, Jahad, Mansoor, Rafiqa, Samir, Aliyaah, Hamza, Marcus. He was also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ahab was predeceased by his siblings, Dessalines, Christopher, Tyrone, Ahamid, John, Freddie, and Adrienne Testman.
A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 - 12:45 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Visitors are required to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects and exit without lingering to ensure everyone can come through. Friends are invited to his burial at 1:15 PM at Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
